Community Based Alternatives

The Community Based Alternative (CBA) program provides home community-based services to person's age 21 and older that would qualify for nursing facility care. These services are provided as cost-effective alternatives to placement in nursing facilities.

Case Management is provided by your caseworker at the Texas Department of Human Services (TDHS). This waiver service includes:

• Skilled Nursing Care
• Physical Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Therapy
• Respite Care
• Personal Assistance Services
• Minor Home Modifications
• Adaptive Aids
• Medical Supplies

Qualifications

Participants in the CBA program must be 21 years of age or older. They must be Medicaid eligible in the community under SSI, MAP protected status or meet the income and resource requirements for Medicaid benefits in nursing facilities.
